What at first sight is a title more appropriate for a SF tabloid, it’s nevertheless true, world renowned photographer and street artist JR just made the Louvre pyramid disappear.
Most of you have walked by the famous Parisian landmark designed by Chinese-American architect I.M. Pei and completed in 1998. Well, if you walk by the Louvre until June 28th, you’ll have a harder time finding it.
In a trompe l’oeil exercise, JR covered the entire glass structure in the exact image you would see the Louvre museum if the pyramid had never been there.
ps: good luck finding out the real identity of JR, he is kind of like the Martin Margiela of street artists, not many people knowing his real name. Or face for that matter, as he is always wearing sunglasses and a hat.0
