One of the most beautiful villages in the Romanian countryside is Viscri, near Brasov. For those of you who don’t live in Ro, one interesting piece of information is that Prince Charles owns a house here which he visits each summer.
I was there last year for a photoshoot and I’m sorry I didn’t have time to take more pictures so you can see the complete charm of the village, the way the houses and views change spectacularly from one hour to another, depending on the sun’s light. But I do hope you can detect a bit of the charm of the countryside, which reminds me a lot of my childhood spent in Bistrita and nearby places.
You can stay in local homes that have been converted to accommodation rooms and that are beautifully decorated with traditional Romanian furniture.
I really want to get back and I’m sure it’s a great experience to be there in the summer (there are tons of bike tracks if you are the sporty kind), in October for truffle hunting or during the winter holidays, when you can enjoy a traditional Romanian Christmas.
